Welcome to your subject
Videos, talks and more about what you'll be studying.
We understand that everyone applying for university is facing extra stress this year. If you have applied or are thinking of applying to study at Sussex and are wondering how the wider situation around Coronavirus (Covid-19) might impact your application, you can find information here.
Although the current situation in the UK is subject to change, we are currently expecting to welcome you and thousands of other students to our campus and Brighton accommodation during Welcome Weekend in September (Saturday and Sunday 19 and 20 September 2020). Please be assured that our first priority is to make sure that our Sussex campus will be a safe place to live and study.
Read our applicant advice for more information.
Please watch this video message from our Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Saul Becker.

Hello, and thank you for taking time to find out a little more about the University of Sussex.
My name is Saul Becker and I’m the Provost here at Sussex, which essentially means I have a big say in the kind of education we offer all our students.
Whilst this is a strange time on planet earth, and probably like you, I’m staying indoors at home more than I’ve ever done in my life – we’re all working really hard to welcome new students to our brilliant campus and the City of Brighton and Hove later this year.
I know you’ll want to have a good look around our website and hear from our many wonderful academics about the fascinating courses and modules on offer at Sussex. So I won’t hold you up….other than to say: The world around us can be a very challenging place – and here at Sussex one of things that underpins all our teaching and research, is to try and make it a better place for everyone.
Please look after yourself during this time – I very much hope you are able to join us.
If you have applied to Sussex we already have your details and will contact you by email at key points during your application.
If you haven’t applied yet and what to keep up to date with Sussex, including campus events and help with your application, please register for updates.
